Tour Itinerary :
Day 1 Medan
Begin the adventure in Medan, the capital of north Sumatra. If arriving early, perhaps visit Maimoon Palace or the Graha Bunda Maria temple.
Days 2-3 Lake Toba
Travel to Lake Toba, the world's largest volcanic lake and home to the delightful Batak Toba people. Gain insights into this fascinating ancient culture on a full-day tour of the surrounding area.
Days 4-5 Berastagi
Visit Sipiso-piso waterfall and Simalungun Palace, home to the last Batak king, before continuing to Dokan village. Experience an unforgettable evening of Batak hospitality during a homestay. Hike to the peak of Sibayak Volcano, spotting gibbons and monkeys cavorting in the treetops, and soak up impressive views at the summit. After the hike, soothe tired muscles in a nearby hot spring.
Days 6-7 Ketambe
Uncover jungle secrets in Gunung Leuser National Park, home to many endangered species including tigers, elephants and rhinoceros. Join local guides on rainforest treks in search of orangutans, as well as rare and edible plants, and spend a night camping by the river.
Days 8-9 Gayo Highlands
Travel into Indonesia's stunning Gayo Highlands, enjoying spectacular views of rolling hills blanketed with coffee plantations. Explore the mysterious Loyang Koro Cave and perhaps sample a bottle of famous local brew while soaking up the serenity.
Days 10-11 Banda Aceh
